GeorgAnn Hedlesten Oglesby, one of Houston’s outstanding young lawyers,is a family law attorney with extensive courtroom representation. She fearlessly speaks out for the rights of children and parents that have been misrepresented before the court, and as a result, is in demand as a divorce and child custody attorney.

Oglesby has been recognized as a Texas Rising Star by Super Lawyers magazine, a Thomson Reuters business, published in Texas Monthly magazine from 2010-2013. She has also been recognized as a Top Young Professional and Top Lawyer for the People by H Magazine, 2009-2013. Oglesby is a member of the Burta Rhoads Raborn Family Law American Inn of Court.

Oglesby was admitted to the State Bar of Texas and the United States District Court, Southern District, in 2004. She is a member in good standing of the American Trial Lawyers Association; Texas Trial Lawyers Association; State Bar of Texas; College of the State Bar of Texas; Houston Bar Association, Family Law Section; Fort Bend Bar Association, Family Law Section; and Texas Women Lawyers.

She received her Bachelor of Arts in English and History from Texas State University prior to graduating Magna Cum Laude with a Juris Doctorate from Thurgood Marshall School of Law in 2003. She also studied at The Ohio State University.

Prior to opening The Oglesby Law Firm PLLC in 2008, she served an internship with Harris County District Attorney’s office. Hedlesten & Oglesby, LLP was her initial trial law position.
